Beer, Churrasco, and Your Hormones
The Brazilian weekend is not a pint. It is a pattern: late protein, a lot of beer, short sleep, and a Monday that feels like a medical symptom. What alcohol actually does to testosterone, erections and the waist.

A Brazilian man describing "low testosterone" will often, in the same conversation, describe a Friday that started at a churrasco and ended after the second bar. He does not think of those as the same sentence. They are.
Alcohol is not poison in a glass of beer. It is also not a hormone-neutral calorie. Heavy and binge patterns suppress the gonadal axis, fragment sleep, and are a reliable way to turn a Friday erection into a Saturday problem. The waist keeps the receipt.
General educational information, not medical advice. If you cannot get through a weekend without more than you intended, or if people around you have started to comment, that is a clinical conversation, not a hormone one.
What a "normal" Brazilian weekend does
The literature on alcohol and testosterone is dose-dependent. A drink with dinner is not a clinic. Repeated binge drinking — and a churrasco that starts in the afternoon and is still going at midnight is a binge by the numbers, even when it feels social — is associated with lower testosterone, poorer semen quality and more erectile difficulty.
Sleep is the amplifier. Most of a day's testosterone is produced during sleep. You cannot drink until 2am, sleep five hours, and then treat the Monday blood test as a gland problem. See sleep and what actually raises testosterone.
The calories are not a footnote. Beer plus the plate plus the late snack is often the majority of a week's surplus. The waist then lowers testosterone further. That loop is belly fat.
Erections, specifically
Alcohol is a central depressant and a vasodilator with a hangover that goes the other way. "Whisky dick" is not a joke with a medical exemption. It is also how performance anxiety gets a pharmacological layer: you drink to take the edge off, the erection is worse, the story about yourself gets worse.
A PDE5 inhibitor does not cancel a night of this. It also should not be mixed casually with a lot of alcohol, which is a combination men try.
What "cutting back" looks like without a personality transplant
You do not have to become the man who drinks sparkling water at the family lunch. You do have to notice that four weekends a month is a training block, a sleep protocol and a hormone protocol, whether you named it or not.
Two practical cuts that actually move numbers: fewer bottles after the food is done, and a hard stop that leaves seven hours in bed. The second one is the one Brazilian men underestimate.
If the question is already "can I stop", the answer is not on this page. AA, a CAPS, or a GP who will not moralise is the door.
When this is a different disease
Morning drinking, shaking, blackouts, a liver that has already been mentioned, or a blood pressure that will not come down: that is alcohol-use disorder and hypertension, not a weekend optimisation article.
